Signs & Symptoms of OVERTRAINING:
Proper training requires a fine
balance of stressing the body and
recovery. Too little and you
don't increase endurance. Too
little, and you lose benefits and
are subject to injury or illness
(cold, flu, aches) that may cause
you to miss an event.
You
should be tired at the end of a
training session, but look for these
signs overtraining:
-
Irritability
-
Inability to get a good night's
sleep
-
Feeling fatigued at the start of a
workout
-
Negative thoughts about working out
Body aches in the head, back,
shoulders, joints
Decreased capacity for following
your training schedule
If
you experience several of these
symptoms, take a few minutes to
consider whether you're overdoing it
and if you're getting the full
benefit from your training.
